Henri I of Verdun : ウィキペディア英語版
Henri de Verdun
Henri de Verdun was bishop of Liège from 1075 to 1091. He owed his election to the influence of his relative Godefroid le Bossu, duke of Lower Lorraine, with the Emperor Henry IV〔(), in French.〕
He took part in the Synod of Worms 1076. Pacific, though an imperial supporter in the Investiture Controversy, he built up his diocese by acquisitions (e.g. of Waremme〔(Liège - Les anciennes Bonnes Villes de la principauté )〕 in 1078, Donceel〔(Donceel (Municipality, Province of Liège, Belgium) )〕). Internally he operated as guardian of the Peace of God from 1081,〔(), in French.〕 and instituted a court system.〔http://www.vki.ac.be/~bottin/liege/lg_hist.html〕
